Microsoft Analysis Services projects provide project templates and design surfaces for building professional data models hosted in SQL Server Analysis Services on-premises, Microsoft Azure Analysis Services, and Microsoft Power BI.

In VS2019, if you experience hangs or crashes, please try clearing your VS component cache (shutdown VS, and delete the %USERPROFILE%AppDataLocalMicrosoftVisualStudio16.x_xxxxxxxxComponentModelCache folder, then restart VS). Also, there are still known issues with WinForms controls and the Per Monitor Awareness feature in VS2019. While we have addressed a number of these issues, if the tabular measures grid is not painting, please disable this setting: Navigate to Tools in the Menu bar, then click ‘Options’. Next, under the Environment tab click ‘General’ and uncheck the option ‘Optimize rendering for screens with different pixel densities’.

Changes in Previous Releases:
Package includes support for Tabular and Multidimensional projects. After creating a new model project by using one of the templates, you can begin model authoring by using the designer tools and wizards included in the chosen project type. Among other things, you can import existing models from a server or from Power Pivot or start a new, blank model project.
Analysis Services modeling projects integrate with source control, such as Team Foundation Server and many third-party source control plug-ins. If you have configured Visual Studio to use source control, you can use check in/check out from Solution Explorer.

Preview Release Candidate Builds If you’d like to have early access to release candidate builds before they are published to the VS Gallery, we’re making available to give customers an opportunity to provide feedback prior to finalizing releases. To access the release candidate of the extensions in Visual Studio, you may do so by creating a “private gallery” and entering the following settings.
- Navigate to Tools > Options and then select Extensions and Updates under General.
- Under «Additional Extension Galleries», enter the following details:
- Name: Microsoft BI VSIX Preview
- URL: http://aka.ms/ProBI-VSIX
After entering these settings, your «Extensions and Updates» dialog will show updates for the extension when there is a new release candidate that you can install to provide feedback for a day or two before the VS Gallery VSIX is updated.
Installation issues A small number of users have reported installation issues. If you experience installation issues in either Visual Studio 2019 or 2017 please use the following steps to mitigate the issue:
- Uninstall the Analysis Services Projects extension from both VS 2019 and VS2017 (if you have both installed on the same machine). a. In VS 2019 navigate to ‘Extensions’ -> ‘Manage Extensions’ -> Find “Microsoft Analysis Services Projects” -> Click ‘Uninstall’ b. In VS 2017 navigate to ‘Tools’ -> ‘Extensions and Updates’ -> Find “Microsoft Analysis Services Projects” -> Click ‘Uninstall’
- Ensure they were successfully uninstalled. a. Navigate to C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft Visual StudioCommon7IDECommonExtensionsMicrosoft b. If the folder ‘SSAS’ exists, please delete it. c. Navigate to C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft Visual Studio2019EnterpriseMSBuild d. If the folder ‘Business Intelligence Semantic Model’ exists, please delete it.
- Reinstall the latest extension available on the Visual Studio Marketplace.

В 2005 году Microsoft выпустила следующее поколение OLAP и технологии Data Mining в виде Analysis Services 2005. Оно поддерживал обратную совместимость на уровне API: несмотря на то, что приложения, написанные с применением OLE DB for OLAP и MDX, продолжали успешно работать, архитектура продукта стала совершенно иной. Главным нововведением в модели стало сведение к концепции унифицированной модели измерений UDM (Unified Dimensional Model).

Развертывание модели из Visual Studio
После создания сервера в подписке Azure все готово к развертыванию на нем базы данных табличной модели. Visual Studio можно использовать совместно с проектами Analysis Services для создания и развертывания проекта табличной модели, над которым вы работаете.
Для начала работы необходимы перечисленные ниже компоненты и данные.
- Сервер Analysis Services в Azure. См. дополнительные сведения о создании сервера Azure Analysis Services.
- Проект табличной модели в Visual Studio или существующая табличная модель на уровне совместимости 1200 и выше. Не создавали такую модель ранее? Обратитесь к руководству по табличному моделированию продаж в Интернете Adventure Works.
- Локальный шлюз. Если один или несколько источников данных находятся в локальной сети вашей организации, необходимо установить локальный шлюз данных. Этот шлюз необходим для подключения сервера в облаке к локальным источникам данных для обработки и обновления данных в модели.
[!TIP] Перед развертыванием убедитесь, что можете обрабатывать данные в таблицах. В Visual Studio последовательно выберите элементы Модель > Обработать > Обработать все. Если обработка завершается сбоем, вы не сможете выполнить развертывание.
Получение имени сервера
На портале Azure выберите сервер, а затем щелкните Обзор > Имя сервера и скопируйте имя сервера.
Развертывание из Visual Studio
- В Visual Studio выберите Обозреватель решений, щелкните правой кнопкой мыши проект и выберите пункт Свойства. Затем в разделе Развертывание >Сервер вставьте имя сервера.
- В окне Обозреватель решений щелкните правой кнопкой мыши элемент Свойства и выберите команду Развернуть. Возможно, вам будет предложено войти в Azure.
Состояние развертывания отображается в окне «Вывод» и в разделе «Развертывание». 
Если при развертывании метаданных возникает ошибка, вероятная ее причина заключается в том, что Visual Studio не удалось подключиться к серверу. Убедитесь, что вы можете подключиться к серверу, используя SQL Server Management Studio. Убедитесь, что правильно указано свойство сервера развертывания для проекта.
Если возникает сбой развертывания на таблице, скорее всего, причина в том, что серверу не удалось подключиться к источнику данных. Если источник данных является локальным в сети организации, не забудьте установить Локальный шлюз данных.
После развертывания табличной модели на сервере к нему можно подключиться. К серверу можно подключиться к с помощью SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). Также вы можете подключиться к серверу с помощью клиентского средства, например Power BI, Power BI Desktop или Excel, и начать создавать отчеты.

Нет компонента Analysis Services в мастере установки SQL Server
Хочу установить сервер для многомерной базы. Почитал на сайте microsoft, посмотрел видосы, везде люди заходят в мастер установки SQL Server, доходят до выбора компонентов и ставят там галочку около «Analysis Services», а у меня такого компонента нет и никак он не показывается. Сервер 2014 версии, потому что windows 7

Все в порядке, дело в было в том, что у меня стоял EXPRESS сервер, а нужен был DEVELOPER EDITION
